Engineering from İzmir.

Founded by Gürel Baltalı in 2015, STARK works in structural design, architecture and BIM with a seven-person team based in İzmir. The practice provides design, detailing and coordination services for facilities in Türkiye and abroad, according to each commission’s scope.

Our portfolio includes structural steel drawings for SOCAR–Havatek Phase 2 pipe bridges; aspirator and miscella filter structural design and fabrication inspection, plus seed press dynamic analysis and foundation design, for Sodrugestvo Oil Factory; steel structures and tank foundations for the Golden Oil Refinery VDU unit; and pipe-bridge design and strengthening for Pınar Süt.

Gürel Baltalı

After graduating in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Gürel Baltalı focused on structural engineering. He joined Özün Proje in 2008, working on the design and management of projects in Russia, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Libya.

In 2011, he moved to Austria and began postgraduate studies at Graz University of Technology. He completed his master’s degree in 2014 and returned to Türkiye. Following roles as Deputy Project Manager, he worked as Engineering Coordinator at the STAR Refinery.
